In about 1775 James Stuart wanted to create an imposing approach to his family’s estate. He created the now haunted Dark Hedges with rows of over 150 beech trees planted along the entrance road to the estate. Legend has it that it is haunted by the Grey Lady and she comes out every night and glides along the trees until she disappears at the very last one…
